Preliminary Results & Assessment Correction

On Tuesday, September 1, GRESB will release the 2026 preliminary results, giving participants an advance look at their Benchmark Reports before final results on October 1.

To support this review, the Assessment Correction window will be open from September 1 through September 15. The service is designed to strengthen the reliability of results by allowing participants to correct errors in their data input.

New in 2026: Validation Findings Summary

The 2026 Validation Findings Summary, available in the GRESB Portal, brings greater transparency to the validation process. The report sets out the responses that could not be fully confirmed and the reasoning behind each decision, helping participants review their results and make the most of the Assessment Correction window.

Log in to the GRESB Portal on September 1 to view the report.

Assessment Correction

How it works

Participants review their Preliminary Benchmark Report and, if needed, request a correction through the GRESB Member Success Team. If a correction is appropriate, the assessment will be temporarily unlocked for edits and must be re-submitted within three business days.

What can be amended

Participants can amend responses, update hyperlinks, add documentation, or correct performance data that was inadvertently left out before July 1. Please note that new data collected after the submission deadline cannot be added.

All changes made through the Assessment Correction service will be re-validated, re-scored, and reflected in the final Benchmark Reports released on October 1.

  • Results Performance Review: Available after results are released on October 1, this service provides a forward-looking understanding of Benchmark Results, helping participants identify opportunities for improvement and prepare for future assessment cycles.

Together, these offerings are designed to guide participants through the Assessment cycle with greater clarity and confidence.

Foundation Update

Road to Performance Update

Last month we shared the findings report from the Road to Performance public consultation, which confirmed a clear market expectation: GRESB should keep moving toward a Real Estate Standard that rewards real-world performance, focuses on the metrics that matter, and reduces unnecessary complexity.

Since then, the Foundation, the Real Estate Standards Committee (RESC), and the Foundation Board have worked through the responses and fed them into the next iteration of the Standard. The big items with clear backing are confirmed, including the 2028 timeline. Proposals that drew broad support but raised specific scenarios have gone back for closer work. And where the industry was not behind us, we have reopened the question.

None of this is final yet—the report summarizes the consultation findings and how the feedback is informing the next stage of the GRESB Foundation’s work. It does not set out final decisions. GRESB expects to publish the finalized updates in Q4 2026. They will apply from the 2028 Standard, assessing 2027 data.
