Recognised and certified by the HKGBC, BEAM Plus is Hong Kong’s locally derived green building rating tool, offering a comprehensive set of performance criteria on a wide range of sustainability issues relating to the planning, design, construction, commissioning, fitting out, management, operation and maintenance of a building. By providing a fair and objective assessment of a building’s overall performance throughout its life cycle, BEAM Plus enables organisations and companies of all sizes to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable development. Besides being widely adopted in Hong Kong, BEAM Plus has extended reach to Macau and some key cities in Mainland China.
Starting from 2020, HKGBC has started to explore extending its sustainability rating scope to the infrastructure sector. It is anticipated that a rating tool for infrastructure would emerge in the near future.
