Amsterdam, 2025 – GRESB, the global sustainability benchmark for real assets, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dame Alison Rose DBE as Independent Non-Executive Chair of GRESB B.V., the organization’s benefits corporation and certified B Corp, which works closely with the independent GRESB Foundation.
Rose is currently a Senior Partner at Charterhouse, a European private equity firm. She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of NatWest Group, a major retail and commercial bank, until 2023. Rose has extensive leadership experience in financial services, risk management, and corporate governance. She will provide valuable strategic support to GRESB at an important time in the organization’s growth, as it continues to advance transparency and data-driven decision-making for real assets investors and managers.

Rose previously served on The Prime Minister’s Business Council, the UK Government’s Energy Efficiency Taskforce, and the Net Zero Council. She is a founding member of GFANZ, is part of the SMI Council for Climate, and was Co-Chair of the Energy Efficiency Taskforce for the UK Government. Rose was also invited by the UK Government to lead a review of the barriers to women starting businesses and launched The Rose Review in March 2019, which she then updated annually to detail good progress on female entrepreneurship.
Throughout her career, Rose has been a strong ambassador for climate and entrepreneurship. She was appointed Dame Commander (DBE) in 2023 for services to the financial services sector and her work on Climate Transition. She is a Trustee for Help for Heroes and was the former Chair of BITC’s Scotland Leadership Board and was appointed as Vice Chair of BITC in December 2022. She currently holds a number of non-executive director positions.
Rose has a degree in History from Durham University and received an honorary degree from Durham University and University of York.
