GRESB releases Climate Action Plan, outlining pathways to drive real-world decarbonization

Amsterdam, June 3 – GRESB is proud to announce the release of its inaugural Climate Action Plan, a strategic blueprint that defines GRESB’s role in mobilizing the financial sector to decarbonize real assets and accelerate progress toward global net-zero goals.

Covering both GRESB and Asset Impact, the Climate Action Plan demonstrates a commitment to go beyond business-as-usual and actively catalyze systemic change through transparency, innovation, and deep engagement with industry stakeholders.

The Climate Action Plan outlines GRESB’s approach across four key areas: governance and foundation, including its integration with Asset Impact and backing from General Atlantic’s BeyondNetZero fund; products and services that support climate-aligned decision-making; stakeholder engagement and industry collaboration; and a forward-looking agenda for research and innovation. It also provides a clear framework for aligning GRESB tools and standards with net-zero goals and strengthening the connection between capital flows and real-world emissions reductions.

“We aim to deliver tools, establish connections, and provide leadership that short-circuit more traditional approaches to responsible investment,” said Erik Landry, GRESB’s Director of Climate Change. “This Plan marks our commitment to turning data into meaningful action—where it matters most.”

The Climate Action Plan aligns with GRESB’s commitments as a signatory to the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance and represents a pivotal milestone in the organization’s mission to lead the real asset industry toward a more sustainable and resilient future. By codifying its approach to net-zero alignment and sectoral decarbonization, GRESB is equipping the market with the tools, data, and standards needed to turn climate commitments into climate outcomes.
